Depending on the specific case, it is often possible to lower a portfolio’s holding costs and at the same time increase its income production. It is important to identify the properties that contain the highest levels of liability and attempt to transfer the risk away thus making the assets much more attractive. It may also be possible to release capital from resources that are surplus or underutilised within a portfolio. Similarly, it is important to be able to identify assets that must be retained and where possible enhanced through effective asset management. In essence, a review of the property assets will allow us to assess the current and future economic efficiency of the portfolio.
